The first season of the WoT TV show has four directors who were either officially announced or otherwise confirmed. These are Uta Briesewitz, Wayne Yip, Salli Richardson-Whitfield and Ciaran Donnelly. Our website broke the news on both Yip and Donnelly.  Also confirmed through different releases, news stories and sanctioned social media posts are some episode names and who’s directing them.

We have known that

  • Uta will direct episodes 1 and 2, “Leavetaking” and “Shadow’s Waiting”.
  • Salli Richardson’s name appeared on scripts for episodes 5 and 6, “Blood Calls Blood” and “The Flame of Tar Valon” Respectively.
  • As we reported, Ciaran will direct the finale of the supposed 8-episode season. This could mean the yet-to-be named episode 8 or both 7 and 8.

That leaves episodes 3 and 4, “A Place of Safety” and “The Dragon Reborn”. Those last two must belong to Wayne Yip. This entry from a crew member’s CV gives us that added bit of confirmation.

Yes, it’s a slow news day, but it’s also nice to tidy things up a bit for when a Brown Sister comes asking for info.
