According to a local Spanish news site, El Dia Segovia, Amazon’s The Wheel of Time will reportedly be filming at Alcázar of Segovia medieval castle located in the city of Segovia, Spain. The article states (translated):

Representatives of the production company were already last October visiting the locations and, finally, ‘The Wheel of Time’ (‘The Wheel of Time’ in Spanish) will shoot scenes at the Alcázar. It is an American production with the Amazon Prime Video seal that is based on the successful series of novels of the same name.

This is a very interesting development, since the production was suddenly halted in the Czech Republic without any comment or announcement from production. According to the article, “artistic and technical team” will be at the castle on November 30, and filming for a “battle” will take place on December 1 and 2.

The Wheel of Time is filming primarily in the Czech Republic, but block one of season one saw filming in Slovenia, and there were also reports of filming taking place in Croatia. This is the first report showing that filming will take place in a country outside of the three listed above.

This is a developing story.
