In case you missed it, Nerdist released an exclusive confirming Meera Syal’s role as fan-favorite character Verin Mathwin in The Wheel of Time season 2 and beyond.
Today, we have four more cast that we’ve identified as being part of Prime Video’s adaptation of Robert Jordan’s beloved book series: Nila Aalia, Joelle, Nyokabi Gethaiga, and Diêm Camille.
Nila Aalia is a British actor known for roles on Halo, Black Narcissus, A Discovery of Witches, and more.
Joelle is a British singer-songwriter, film-maker, and actor known for roles in The School for Good and Evil and Dune. She will also be appearing in the upcoming television series Domina.
Nyokabi Gethaiga is an award-winning Kenyan actress most well known for her starring role in the film Kati Kati, as well as roles in Going Bongo, and I am Slave.
Diêm Camille is a writer and actress born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast who moved to Denmark permanently when she was 5. Her first acting role was in the Danish television series Warrior, and has gone on to more than 25 other credits, her most recent one in Klassen.
Aalia, Joelle, and Gethaiga will be appearing in both seasons 2 and 3. Camille will appear in season 3, and it is unknown if she will also be appearing in season 2. All roles for these actors are currently unknown.
Filming on the Season 3 of The Wheel of Time is currently underway in Prague, and is currently scheduled to run through October 25th. Season 2 is anticipated to release later this year, though an exact release date has been to be announced.
If anyone actually read the books, the Seanchean Empress was Black, the Seafolk are Black people. As described in the books. So the ignorant comments here are nothing if not just blatant ignorant.
Wow, people provoking people to this much hate is really sad. It is nice to see fresh talented actors, no matter the color of their skin or race. I appreciated the multi-cultural cast from the beginning. I didn’t appreciate that they casted a young black actress as the “angry girl”; however she did such a great job with the role that I am sure she is happy now, despite how she was cast… lemonade from lemons.
People, get a little love in your heart, you might be the person who needs a break one day.
Watched the entire first season. I have also read all the books. Not only highly disappointed but outraged! They destroyed the story, changed so much as if the hacks writing it knew better than Robert Jordan! This series is an insult to the memory of R. Jordan, the writers should be ashamed to admit they participated in this horrendous farce. Almost canceled my Amazon Prime membership in protest of this travesty. It almost makes the most writers of thevOutlander series look good, almost.
If you’re so “outraged” by the series, why are you reading articles and taking the time to comment? Why don’t you go find something else better to do with your time and leave stuff like this to the people who actually care? I’m on my 5th read-through while I wait and am truly looking forward to seeing what comes next in the show. If Harriott likes it, I’m all in and you should be too! Stop trying to guess what RJ would think. You didn’t co-write or edit anything, much less sleep with the man. So support HER or move on you wool headed idiots!
I call it portal world Wheel of time. The pass not taken in the books. Remember when Rand first used the
portal stone . When they got where they were going they all had lived different life
I enjoy the books but the amount of bickering throughout is really obnoxious. Someone is constantly chastising someone and oftentimes it is the character with less knowledge and experience talking down to someone who is twice his or her age or has twice the talent. Long after the reader has become aware of how undeserved and foolish this is, Jordan keeps hitting us over the head with it. If I were in this world I would go to the steading with Loyal and stay there. These people need some conflict resolution.
Am I the only one whose first reaction to Diem’s photo was, “Erith!” The other three could be anyone, but Tuon for either Joelle or Nyokabi would be good casting.
