His first breakout role was in the 2005 movie Alice, and since then has had numerous roles in film and television. In 2016, Lopes won Best Actor Award at the Venice Film Festival for his role in Saint George, and he recently gained international acclaim starring in Netflix drama White Lines. In addition to acting, Lopes is also a DJ.
Though his exact filming schedule is unknown, Lopes was filming in Prague in mid-May, approximately one month after filming began on April 17, 2023.
