Today we have a new casting discovery for season 3 of The Wheel of Time. Carmela Bonomi has been cast as Jorin din Jubai, according to her CV.
Bonomi is an actress, dancer, and model of Malagasy, Swiss, and Italian heritage. She attended the Identify School of Acting in London from 2022 until 2024. She has acted and danced in numerous commercials and short films and starred as Mary in Swiss television series The Story of Christmas.
Showrunner Rafe Judkins previously revealed that the Sea Folk would be showcased in the next season. Jorin din Jubai is one of the first Sea Folk (Atha’an Miere) whom readers encounter in the books. She is introduced in The Shadow Rising when Nynaeve and Elayne travel to Tanchico from Tear aboard a Sea Folk ship. While we’ve yet to see hints that Tear will be appearing in season 3, it’s possible that the girls also travel to Tanchico (a confirmed location for season 3) from wherever they are via Sea Folk ship.
Marta Cunningham is noted as the director in Bonomi’s CV. Cunningham is the director for episodes 305 and 306, so this suggests that we can expect to see Bonomi’s first appearance in one of those episodes (assuming the information is accurate).

Can I say something? Its not first. In the first season there was an extra casted as a seafolk. You can see him in i believe the first frame we see from Tar Valon when Rand and Mat arrive.
One Sea Folk tradition from the books is almost certainly will be changed in the show, we won’t get Sea Folk women going topless at sea, maybe enough cloth just to cover the breasts, which would be still very shocking to the 2 Rivers women.
I would like to see a cutting back in the arrogance of the Sea Folk, I think RJ went overboard with the degree of arrogance in them. Certainly, my least favourite society in WOT.

(Arrogance is the middle name of Aes Sedais LOL). Tbh I’m sure RJ had more in mind with them : Aiels are Rand’s army on land / Sea Fold are his at sea (everyone agrees on that!) Because I love the Aiels, surely the reason why I’m excited to see more about the Sea Folk I haven’t read in the books and see what the show is going to do with it. At least, the show is not touching what’s already written, just expanding something that could be (ex : Last of Us/ HBO with the story of Bill & Frank). I loved Jorin in the books, teaching Elayne how to make Weaves thicker and stronger than what the Aes Sedai teach. I hope THAT at least makes it in…
