Before you continue reading, make sure you have seen the sneak peak of the first episode of season 3 of The Wheel of Time! The 11 minutes are packed with magic, betrayal, and women “shredding” each other. As the battle rages, three characters encounter the Thirteenth Depository.
As Verin (Meera Syal) leads her sister, Adeleas (Nila Aalia), and confidant, Nyomi (Rachel Denning), into the hidden rooms, we get glimpses of strange artifacts. Adeleas even clues us in to the fact that these are the strongest sa’angreal and ter’angreal in The White Tower.
Finnally! A Redstone Doorway Appears
Sharp-eyed fans might notice an interesting structure around the 8:38.5 second mark. Slithering into view, a tall doorway with twisting ornate columns and distinct carvings on the top. On one side, you can see snakes and, on the other, foxes. Blink and you might miss it. Here is a brightened shot of the doorframe.

What Does it Mean?
Is this a clever Easter egg? We don’t think so. This is our strongest evidence yet that we may see a glimpse of Sindhol and meet the Aelfinn and Eelfinn, or both.
In The Shadow Rising, Mat, Rand, and Moiraine all spend time in the world of the snake-like Aelfinn after stepping through a doorway in the Stone of Tear. Ssseeking answers, all three leave with a new understanding of their fate. Well, two of them do. Mat leaves with more questionsss than answers.
Later in the book, Mat, thinking he is going to demand more answers from the Aelfinn, ends up in the realm of the Eelfinn instead. The fox-likeEelfinn grant Mat three wishes, and it appears that one of his iconic gifts, the fox-head medallion, can be seen in some of the promotional posters for season 3.

Will we see all three step through the doorframe, like in Tear? Or will we only see one (or none) of them ask the snakes and foxes for truths or gifts?
The Thirteenth Depository?
In the books, the Thirteenth Depository is a secret part of the Tower Library, only known to a select Aes Sedai. It seems like the show is combining the dusty tower store room full of ter’angreal that the Black Ajah ransack before they escape the White Tower with the store room in Tear.
Other items we noticed:
- A bracer, looks like metal. It has a symbol on it that looks like the seals of the Forsaken in season 2.
- A dagger, the knife is seemingly made of bone.
- A small handheld statue of a woman, made of crystal.
- A circular disk, with a spiral pattern. It is translucent and a pink-orange tiny.
- A long black, segmented (or fluted?) rod. It looks to be at least 2-feet long.
- An oddly shaped die, covered in symbols.
What objects of power are you excited to see this season?
The third season of The Wheel of Time, based on Robert Jordan’s fantasy book series, will premiere on Prime Video on March 13, 2025. All episodes of the first two seasons of The Wheel of Time are now available on Prime Video. The series is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.
I love books of all kinds and especially Wheel of Time (I even have a tattoo!) I also love video games and building community online. Blue/Brown ajah (don’t make me choose) and Spoiler Gaidin for the show-only crowd. Find me @feelinmyshelf.bsky.social

On the plinth to the left of the red stone doorway is a rod that looks crystalline. Vora’s sa’angreal, perhaps?
