We’re back with another gripping social recap of live social media reactions to The Wheel of Time’s second episode of its stunning third season: A Question of Crimson. Our episode opens on a flashback to 20 years ago in Caemlyn, the capital of the country of Andor. A golden-haired and very pregnant Morgase Trakand makes an ethereal trek through a crowd to greet two small children then take a seat on the lion throne.

 

After a brutal succession war, Morgase graciously forgives the heads of the three major houses who fought against her, but ultimately lost, after which they all adjourn for light hors d’oeuvres and gleeman’s tales, right? RIGHT!?!

While the Andoran entourage is escorted to their quarters, Team Three-Fold Land is working their way through the Spine of the World, a massive mountain range running north/south through the content separating the temperate Westlands from the arid “waste”. 

The brutal sun beats down on Rand, Egwene, Moiraine, and Rand but Aviendha throws enough shade at their pace to keep them all burn-free for weeks. Moiraine doesn’t even need her highly controversial hat as they wind their way through epic vistas.

We jump from our world’s eastern mountain range to its western one with a waygate opening, but this looks unlike any waygate exit we have seen before! Perrin, Loial, Bain, and Chiad exit and Loial locks the waygate with a trefoil shaped stone leaf.

I liked Mat’s healing scene. Firmly establishing his problem. Simple, but again short.

We last saw Ryma in Falme as she was being collared as a damane by the Seanchan following the death of her warder. She (and presumably other damane) was rescued off-screen after the Battle of Falme and returned to the tower.

The tower is a hotbed of activity today as Siuan and Queen Morgase stop for a brief chat and drop their masks for a moment on their way to greet Elayne. Morgase wants Elayne to return home immediately. She can get her cereal box version of the great serpent ring and then they’re out.
