The Wheel of Time turns, and Seasons come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Season that gave it birth comes again. In a Season called the Third Season by some, a wind blew from Tanchico, east to Tar Valon, and over the Dragon Wall to the Aiel Waste. The eight and final episode of The Wheel of Time Season 3 airs on Prime Video April 17 2025 at Midnight Pacific, 7AM GMT/UTC.
As the Battle of the Two Rivers neatly closed the chapter on one of the four main storylines of Season 3 in Episode 7, three remain awaiting resolution: Rand and Moiraine in the Three-Fold Land; Nynaeve, Elayne, Mat, Min, and Thom in Tanchico hunting Liandrin and her Black Ajah companions; and in Tar Valon, a possible confrontation looms between Siuan and Elaida.
All three plotlines reflect events from The Shadow Rising, the fourth book in Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time. Rand is poised to fulfill his destiny as the prophesied Car’a’carn (Chief of Chiefs) of the Aiel in a confrontation with Couladin. Nynaeve and Elayne pursue the Black Ajah to prevent them from obtaining the collar that could be used to control Rand. Meanwhile, the White Tower faces its greatest trial yet: a potential coup that could tear it apart.
We should expect some deviations, however. Most notably, Moiraine and Lan will face their own struggle against Lanfear while Rand makes his case at Alcair Dal, as seen in the preview released by the show (see below).

Another notable split-second shot from the preview shows Nynaeve underwater. We’ve seen a scene like this in one of the later books. Could this be that moment pulled forward? Notably absent from the preview is Mat. However, we know from key art released ahead of the season that he ends up with the foxhead medallion. Will we finally see him enter the world of the Eelfinn and Aelfinn?
The episode is written by Justine Juel Gillmer, who—like showrunner Rafe Judkins—has taken on the task of writing tough episodes and has repeatedly delivered when navigating difficult storylines and transitions. Directing the episode is Ciaran Donnelly, who has taken on the monumental task of helming three action-heavy episodes: 301 (the White Tower “shredding” and the bubble of evil scenes), 307 (the Battle of the Two Rivers), and 308, which, as discussed above, is expected to cover Alcair Dal, the Lan/Moiraine vs. Lanfear fight scenes, and action sequences in Tanchico.
