Prime Video treated fans of The Wheel of Time by dropping an exclusive sneak peak of the first 11 minutes of the upcoming season. This much-anticipated “bonkers” opening features some of the most visually stunning usage of the One Power seen in the show so far. Read on for our break down of the opening (spoiler warning!) and a list of new and confirmed Aes Sedai and roles.

The Wheel of Time Season 3 Exclusive Sneak Peek

The Wheel of Time Season Three opens with Liandrin (Kate Fleetwood) being summoned to the Hall of the Tower to answer for her crimes. The Red Ajah is barred from the proceedings. Liandrin begins by accusing Siuan (Sophie Okonedo) of keeping the Dragon’s identity a secret and letting him escape in Cairhien. She then presents the charges: that Liandrin is Black Ajah sworn to the shadow. Liandrin initially denies this, saying there is no proof. However, Siuan presents her star witness, Nynaeve (Zoë Robins), whom Liandrin kidnapped and gave to the Seanchan. Realizing she is caught, Liandrin attacks Siuan with the One Power. Siuan retaliates and appears to have the upper-hand until Liandrin signals to the other Black Ajah Sitters, who reveal themselves by attacking the rest of the Aes Sedai.

A fight erupts as Siuan, Leane (Jennifer Cheon-Garcia), Alanna (Priyanka Bose), and the other loyal sisters desperately defend themselves against the onslaught. Pillars crumble, Aes Sedai are sent flying, and one unfortunate Sitter is even cut in half by a particularly nasty weave from Joiya Byir (Joelle). Additional Black Ajah, including Chesmal Emry and Jeaine Caide (Olivia Popica), arrive outside the Hall and attack the waiting warders and Aes Sedai. Liandrin and her allies link and channel a powerful explosion before making their escape.

Below in the city of Tar Valon, Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) and Lan (Daniel Henney) see the explosion at the White Tower. Meanwhile, Verin (Meera Syal), Adeleas (Nila Aalia), and Nyomi (Rachel Denning) have descended to the Thirteenth Depository, a hidden storeroom for the White Tower’s strongest angreal and sa’angreal. Verin has been tasked with protecting these powerful objects, no matter the cost. (Eagle-eyed fans may notice some significant items in this scene!) Nyomi reveals herself to be Black Ajah, incapacitates Verin and Adeleas with the One Power, and begins gathering up as much as she can carry. The scene ends with Alanna and her warders confronting Liandrin and her posse in the streets of Tar Valon.

New Characters and Cast Confirmations

  • Diêm Camille as Tsutama Rath, a Red sister: Another previous reporting, we can now finally confirm Diêm’s role as a Red sister in Season Three. Specifically Tsutama Rath, according to her updated CV. Diêm Camille is a writer and actress born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast who moved to Denmark permanently when she was 5. Her first acting role was in the Danish television series Warrior, and has gone on to numerous other credits, most recently the television series Alex Rider and short film No Place for a Kid. She will appear in Alien: Earth later this year (alongside Wheel of Time alum, Sandra Yi Sencindiver).
  • Clare Dunne as a Red sister: We previously reported this Irish actress would be appearing in Season Three, speculating she may be part of the early Tower scenes, where indeed we see her appear as a Red sister. Dunne is an actor from Dublin, Ireland, who graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Cardiff, in 2009. She has had numerous stage roles at the Abbey Theatre and the National Theatre. In 2000, she starred in Herself, a movie she also co-wrote. She was nominated for several awards for her work on the movie as both an actress and a screenwriter. When Kin debuted in 2021, Dunne became one of the most recognizable stars on Irish television. Most recently, Dunne can be seen in the films Small Things Like These and Kathleen Is Here.

  • Clare-Hope Ashitey as a White sister: When we previously reported Ashitey’s involvement, her social media photos with both Shohreh Aghdashloo  (Elaida) and Salóme Gunnarsdóttir (Melaine) made it difficult to guess what her role might be. While Ashitey’s character isn’t named, she’s significant enough that she can be seen in what appears to be Egwene’s Accepted test in the teaser trailer. Ashitey is British actor who received numerous award nominations for her role in the movie Children of Men, one of her first film roles. She most recently appeared in the second season of Funny Woman, a Sky comedy that also welcomed Perrin’s actor Marcus Rutherford amongst its season 2 cast.
  • Olumide Olorunfemi as Ispan Shefar, a Blue sister: Jon from WoT Up! previously announced this casting, and she can be seen as a prominent part of the Hall of the Tower fight. Olorunfemi is a graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), who is probably best known for her role as Young Shriek in the movie Venom: Let There be Carnage. She also starred in the one-hour musical drama History of a Pleasure Seeker, short films Rhyme or Die and Everyone Alive Wants Answers, and most recently appeared in The Winter King and Cheaters.
  • Olivia Popica as Jeaine Caide, a Green sister: We previously reported Popica would be appearing in this role. Popica is a Romanian actor who trained at the National Youth Theatre in London, UK and the Identity School of Acting. She has most recently appeared in television series Liaison and The Tattooist of Auschwitz.
  • Chesmal Emry, a Yellow sister: If you listened closely, you may have heard the sound of thousands of fans pointing and squealing when a certain Yellow sister was name dropped onscreen. At long last, we have our “F-cking Chesmal Emry”, although her actress is currently unknown.

This is certainly the show’s most action-packed season opener so far. In just a few short weeks, the first three episodes of The Wheel of Time will premiere on Prime Video on March 13, 2025.

(Updated Feb 20, 2025, 11:00 pm CST with Diêm Camille’s role.)

Lover of fantasy and other geeky goodness.

I'm a longtime SFF fan but Wheel of Time will always be my first love. I want to call myself Green Ajah, but--let's be real--I'm probably a Brown. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, writing, and getting lost in the wilderness.
